SIREN

SIREN

The first time I saw you,

Was like a rainbow

Exploding into a thunderclap.

Compelling my attention with fascination and wonder.

My eyes were drawn to your magistery.

Your unerring radiance,

Casts the shadows from isolated recesses of my core.

Transfixed by improbability,

But coerced

To believe in the unfathomable lure.

An imperfect being,

Gazing in awe upon perfection.

Like scree from the walls of Jericho,

My misgivings lay asunder,

My will…shattered.

Helplessly I drifted upon a sea of your fragrant aura.

Your undiluted beautiful,

A beacon to guide my passage,

End my voyage.

Upon your luxuriant shores,

I remain,

Locked in bliss.

To end my days in Arcadia,

And wander no more.

FACETS OF LOVE

Love is…

A knife that pierces the core

Each time we profess

Another dies

At night, they say a prayer

…wipe away a tear

Love is…

An ocean upon which floats

Hopes and aspirations

But can easily be dashed

Onto morbid shoals

Remnants…set adrift in anguish

Love is…

A toy…to be enjoyed

Until the novelty fades

Then is discarded

It rusts…but never dies

Love is…

Eden…

A paradise unbecoming

Pure, sweet, innocent

Prowled…

By the green-eyed serpent

Love is…

Ignorance, it exists

A treasure trove of despair

Unknown and unseen

Hidden from the blind

In shadowy recesses

Until it’s gone

…then is sorely missed

COSMIC CADENCE

COSMIC CADENCE

I’m hot.

And I will make you hot.

Bathe you in my glory,

Lavish my attention on you.

Embrace your sensuous body

With my firm caress.

Lay back and let me please you.

My unblemished radiance makes you wet,

Captivates you by the many things I do.

The many ways I charm you.

I inject you with life.

My desire keeps you alive,

Palpitating…longing for gratification

When I withdraw

You feel my absence…

A cold desolation.

In time I will expire,

Explode and be rekindled…

Then my amorous dance,

Will begin anew.

TIME

TIME

Time…

There’s plenty of it

But never enough

It is saved

And it is wasted

It can fly

Or it can stand still

It can be remembered…

It can be forgotten

We have it

And we make it

It is lost

And it is found

It can pass you by

Or it can catch up to you

But it should be treasured

When it is gone…

It will not return

SPIRITLESS VITALITY

SPIRITLESS VITALITY

Morning…

Brilliant, bright and innocent

Filled with mysterious wonders

Infinite possibilities and unbridled grandeur

Promises yet to unfold

Afternoon…

Day dreaming, aspiring

Eager anticipation of twilight’s asseveration

Dusk’s rambunctious destinies

Duplicitous foretastes of compromised ideals

Evening…

The fading light of mislaid profession

Potential dwindled and blown to dust

The vacant storm that brewed

But withheld its deluge

Night…

Remorseful,

Lamentations of a scattered day

Realizations of unfulfilled escapes

Thresholds approached but never accessed

Fears of night’s end and a light-less dawn

That final step into the unknown

LINGERING SHADOWS

LINGERING SHADOWS

The battle is ended

And I lay wounded…

dying

But I rise and endure

I wear my scars beneath my vestment

My armor shines for friend and foe

None can see that you’ve pierced my heart

My blunt-fisted denials

Are testaments to my resolve

The pleasurable moments of the past

Transform into the loneliness of the future

And become a laceration on my soul

Hope flits through my fingers

And is blown on the wind

Like you…

…never to return

PEERLESS LUCIDITY

20131117_163958

PEERLESS LUCIDITY

 In my depths of solitude

I stand at the precipice

Gaping into the maw of the abyss

Filaments of what could be

Taunt me with wanton promises

But beneath the ebon glade

I see the lurking of rue

The magenta sirens that repulse my yearning

And prolong my perch

Locked in an endless battle

Neither conqueror nor vanquished

The eternal struggle

That is the landscape of my mind
